Flushing my troubles away. (Taken with instagram)
Games that are fighting for my attention lately:
Final Fantasy XIII - After the initial WOW! of the impressive graphics, the reality of this game is starting to sink in… it’s really not that great. The fights can be exciting and fun, but there are just so many consecutive ones that the game just sucks the excitement out of it… but the one thing I hate the most, even more than the “no towns” thing is the complete lack of control over your party and stats. Sure, you can sink points into some abilities, but there’s a limit to how far you can advance each chapter. Sure, you can select your party!… once you are almost at the end of the game. I want to explore a bit, and I need breaks from the main story, which isn’t that good anyway…
God of War 3 - Now this is more like it! Gorgeous graphics, classic gameplay and just jaw-dropping action scenes are making this one my favorite games of the year so far. Once I pushed in Poseidon’s eyeballs by pressing L3 and R3, I was in love.
Demon’s Souls - I’m still trying to master this game… which is a good thing, since it’s so damn fun and challenging!
Just Cause 2 Demo - Graphics are OK, the gameplay is nice, the shooting is so-so, the voice acting sucks, the story… there’s a story??… and yet this game is in the running along with GoW3 for my favorite game so far. It’s so damn fun!
Dragon Age: Origins - Finishing up all the loose ends before jumping into the Awakenings expansion!
World of Warcraft - One never truly stops playing… I started up another character, this time a troll warrior, just to play through the quests and the landscape that will no longer exist once Cataclysm comes.
Games forgotten…
Champions Online - I just got bored of it. It’s the little things that kill this game. It still has potential, but… who knows.
Bad Company 2 - Never really got into it… it’s a shame really.
Mass Effect 2 - Loved it, but after 4 playthroughs I’m kinda burned out. Waiting on the Firewalker and Kasumi DLC to drop!

This list is made up of songs that have stood the test of time with me. Songs that haven’t gotten old and I still listen to regularly today. Most are here because they are simply good music, others are here because they carry with them something important or interesting in the memories I have of them.
Enjoy, and feel free to tell me how much my taste in music sucks, I’ll be sure to return the favor when you make your top list.
Oh and a quick note, these are all songs that were released in my lifetime. This of course limits my lists since they wouldn’t include the greats like the Rolling Stones, Buddy Guy, Black Sabbath, a few Iron Maiden songs, Muddy Waters, etc… all artists that have had a HUGE influence on my musical tastes, at the very least.

As some of you may or may not know, I’ll be celebrating my 30th birthday pretty soon. I still have no plans whatsoever, so if any of you have any good ideas on what I should do, feel free to let me know.
In the meantime I plan to do something different this year. Since I’m officially leaving my childhood behind (unofficially I still have it on fast-dial) I decided to celebrate it by giving a tribute to one of those things that had a huge impact on my life and will continue to do so… music. Specifically, rock and roll.
So stay tuned for my top tracks from my top artists of the last 30 years, divided alphabetically by name of the artist. I did it this way ‘cause the list is fucking huge.
First list, artists starting with A, will be up shortly!
